Take My Wife, Please!

Boy, oh, boy, sorry it's been so long since I've hollered at y'all on here, but I've been busy. Yep, that's right, ladies, I am now officially off the market: I am now Mr. Marnie. First, I'd like to thank all of those who travelled near or far to attend our raucous reception. And for those of you unable to make it, I'm sorry you couldn't attend, and you missed one hell of a time. Numerous marrieds have recounted how much work their reception was and how it made it difficult to thoroughly enjoy it...well, I'm fortunate in that I had a way better time than anticipated (and I expected some good ole fashioned fun to begin with)...and judging by some of the pictures, Marnie had an even better time.

The days events started off at Hyner View, a popular jump point for hang gliders, where Rev. Heather (doing double duty as the maid of honor) resided over a ceremony where Marnie and I exchanged our own vows. Gotta say that Marn did a whiz-bang job on hers...and it even rhymed! Then some bubbly was popped and shared among the crew.

Next, Marnie and I hopped into a friend's kick-ass 61 Corvair (the car of Ralph Nader's "Unsafe at Any Speed"). I have to say, that looking at many of the pictures from the wedding, you'd be hard pressed to think that it wasn't a Kennedy-era wedding. Marnie looked amazing in an outfit tied together by a Jackie-O-style pillbox hat. I was rocking Beatle-boots for dress boots (and my long hair and beard, obviously). The car, obviously. And the only video footage of the ceremony was filmed on Super 8.

Once dinner wrapped at the Sportsman's, the good times really started to flow. Once lubricated, sweaty masses hurtled themselves onto the dance floor. At one point, when I was indisposed for a minute, Marnie dragged my dad onto the drunken dancefloor and pulled her best speedy gonzalez around him...after which, one of my buddies asked me if it was alright that my dad exerted that kind of energy. And, of course, Marnie also kept me in line (see picture below).

The night went on forever and ever...the DJ kept the rock flowing until last call.

Thanks to everyone who in any way, large or small, made the best day of my life come together like it did.
