Placing the Blame

While in some ways it is heartening to see the media focusing on real news rather than this whole Imus fiasco (sidenote: this guy has been a total asshole for at least 30 years--that is his bit--why crack down on him now?) or who's swimmers won the competition to enter Anna Nicole's over-saturated egg, I am saddened to the core of my dark, cold heart about this Virginia Tech shooting. That's about all I will give credit to the media for, though... Instead of reporting on the facts of this tragedy, the media is stuck in the gray area of trying to find "answers" in regard to what motivated this kid to go all cold-blooded psycho. As usual, all of these answers are complete bullshit. I just saw that that asshole Dr. Phil is trying to blame video games. Or maybe it's El Nino...or stress...or whatever. A good buddy, Dustin Glick, creator of a great online comic called Dustinland chimed in this morning with commentary on this very subject:

Dustin's comics are great. To check out more Dustinlands (and also, the more abstract, but so friggin funny Birdy), check out dustinland.com.

My heart and thoughts go out to those affected by the events that went down in Blacksburg, Va.
